Can you claim to have summited Manitoba’s highest peak? Add this one to your bucket list! Duck Mountain has some of the clearest, bluest lakes anywhere and has been a popular tourist destination for years. Activities include back or front country camping, fishing, canoeing / kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, and quadding. Childs Lake, Wellman Lake, Singush Lake and the Blue Lakes are considered the most popular destinations in the Ducks.
Duck Mountain is home to moose, white-tailed deer, black bears, foxes, lynx, coyotes, timber wolves and a variety of birds nesting in the forests and marshes. Birders may spot hawks, warblers, woodpeckers, grouse, woodcocks and many more species, while a 30 km network of trails provides for exploration of the hilly terrain and forests by hikers in summer as well as snowmobilers and cross-country skiers in winter.
