Winter Life in Dauphin

While some communities go in to hibernation during the winter months, Dauphin comes alive! 

Dauphin's focus on winter activities started in 2007 when we first competed in the National WinterLights Celebrations competition through Communities in Bloom. The WinterLights Celebrations encouraged municipalities, large and small, to showcase winter activities, festive celebrations and visual decorations that promote Canada's appeal as a winter tourism destination and improve the quality of life in communities across the country. The program also promted the involvement and actions of citizens and volunteers of all ages, the municipal government, service organizations, industry and commerce. In 2007, we received 5 out of 5 stars for our efforts.

In 2009, Communities in Bloom ended the national competition (with a new award being launched in 2012) but our community kept going. This year, we have expanded our efforts and created Winter Life Dauphin.
