You will never be left without anything to do during the winter months in Dauphin. With so many trail options close in and around Dauphin for cross country skiing and snowshoeing, this is a prime area for winter adventures! We are a hockey town, so you will always find some ice nearby on which to skate.
Vermillion Park has 3 km of groomed cross-country ski trails including night skiing along fully-lit trails until 11:00 pm. Or, break your own trail on a pair of snowshoes!
There are also several groomed trails for skiing in nearby Riding Mountain National Park. If you have never explored a true winter wonderland, then this is your chance! Many will tell you that winter is the most special time of year in the park.

Skating is a way of life in Dauphin so whether you are looking to head outdoors or stay inside, there are options to satisfy everyone. Public skating or Sticks and Pucks timeslots are scheduled at the Rotary Arena, Credit Union Place or the DCT Outdoor Rink, or go for a leisurely glide around the Skating Oval. All of these can be found in the Parkland Recreation Complex and the surrounding grounds. Call ahead or visit their website for schedules.
