Dauphin Experiences at Trembowla

Dauphin Experiences at Trembowla
Baba’s Bread & Borscht
Following a tour of this breath-taking historical site, guides at Trembowla will teach you how traditional Ukrainian borscht is made from beginning to end. You will also be shown the process of baking bread in a clay oven, from the firing of the oven to removing the freshly baked loaves. Afterwards, guests will gather to enjoy a delicious Ukrainian lunch of borscht and clay oven-baked buns. As a souvenir of your visit you will be invited to take home the loaves of bread that you have baked, to be enjoyed later.

Clay Ovens: Baking & Building
Discover the taste of buns freshly baked from a clay oven, but first learn how this unique oven is built at Trembowla. A guide at Trembowla will show you the steps required to build a clay oven and you will be able to create your own miniature version of the real thing. See how the oven is fired and then try buns baked in the oven for yourself. This tasty treat will be accompanied by assorted homemade baking, tea and coffee.
Lunch is available upon request.
Thatching at Trembowla
Thatching is characteristic of the first homes built by Ukrainian settlers to Canada: in fact, a thatched roof can be seen on the pioneer home at Trembowla. A guide will take you through the steps of creating your own sheaves and you will be able to secure them to a miniature A-frame roof. You can even take home your own miniature sheaf as a souvenir. After your lesson, relax on Trembowla’s beautiful grounds where you will be served tea, coffee and fresh baking.
Lunch is available upon request.
